Bella Bites: Maw Maw Howard

We received some sad news this week, Jon's Maw Maw passed away on Wednesday. Although she was 92 years old, the news of her passing was unexpected. She was very independent & still lived alone. I only got the chance to meet her once but I felt like I knew her from listening to all of Jon's memories. He would always talk about how growing up he & Maw Maw would sit for hours & talk about how they would solve the world's problems.

She loved Jon so very much & it was evident from the funeral on Saturday. So many people told us how happy she was that we had Bella. I hate that she never got to meet her but I know that she is looking down us & now Bella has own her personal Angel looking out for her.

After we received the news about Maw Maw, we headed to North Carolina for the funeral, it was a sweet graveside service.

On Sunday we headed to Mt Ulla, so I could see the farm house Jon grew up in. The house is beautiful & was built in the 1800's, below are some pics:

Although the circumstances weren't the best, we did get to see Mimi, Papa, Caroline, Steve, Lillie & Hunter & that was a welcomed treat! Bella got tons of kisses from everyone & her cousins are crazy about her. Here are some pics of the everyone hanging out:
